Hi Members

Friday night was another successful turn out at the club with my special guest Scott Edwards from Y Partners lighting the fire. Y Partners is a Business Advisory Service and is a new sponsor for the Semaphore Port Adelaide RSL Sub-Branch. As always if you can support the sponsors which invest in your RSL, please do so.

The Member’s Cash draw saw Kevin Ormond’s (silver sponsor) name drawn out but unfortunately he was not there to claim his cash prize. Next Friday there’s $300 up for grabs so don’t miss out! Make sure you pop in from 1800Hrs, warm yourself by the fire, mingle with some friendly people, have a free shot of Port, enjoy some complimentary bar snacks and support your RSL. There's also the chance to win some raffle prizes including a meat tray from Saint Meat Butchers or a wine pack. Remember, your Committee is working hard to improve the Sub-Branch but we need all of our members’ support to be successful.

I invited the President of the Largs Bay RSL - Peter Cates, and his wife Cheryl, to have a meal with me and some of the other Semaphore & Port Adelaide RSL Committee Members last Thursday. It was great to talk about areas of mutual interest and before the night was over we all agreed that an ongoing friendship between our two clubs would benefit our respective members.

The Garage Sale shop downstairs was open again on Sunday with quite a few people stopping by to peruse the bargains and I must say there was some very fine homemade soup for sale too. If you have any goods you’d like to donate for the monthly Garage Sale, please contact Jan or one of her fund-raising team.

This Saturday we are hosting the WOW FM Bingo & Fun Night. It's a fund-raiser for the local radio station, costs $10 p.p to play and should be a great night. Bingo starts at 1930Hrs but why not come early and enjoy a meal at the Digger’s Rest Bistro which is currently serving delicious Lamb Shanks for only $12!
