(Pte) Peter McDonnell

Private Peter McDonnell, 27th Battalion, of Rosewater, SA, with his wife Isabel, and daughter Matilda. A labourer prior to enlistment, Pte McDonnell embarked with the 6th Reinforcements from Adelaide on HMAT Benalla on 27 October 1915. He transferred to the 10th Battalion with the new service number 2740B. On 19 August 1916 he was killed in action in France, aged 22.
